In 2022, BenQ Materials began conducting product carbon footprint inventories, completing the carbon footprint inventories for three products by 2023: waterproof and breathable functional fabric, display materials (polarizers), and advanced battery separator membranes. Carbon footprint inventory statements (scope: cradle to gate) were obtained for these products. In 2024, another B to C product will be selected for a full life cycle assessment.
By conductingfull life cycle carbon footprint inventories, the company aims to better understand the carbon emissions during the consumer use and end-of-life disposal stages. This data will serve as a reference for the design and development of low-carbon products and the formulation of appropriate carbon reduction measures.
