The Urgent Challenge of E-Waste

Electronic waste is a rapidly growing global problem, projected to rise from 62 to 82 million metric tons between 2022 and 2030 (source: 2024 Global E-Waste Monitor Report). Around 80% of e-waste is not properly managed, posing significant environmental harm and health risks, especially in areas with poor recycling practices.

Leading the Way in Eco-Friendly Textile Solutions

Xpore’s e2cycle technology, developed in partnership with Far Eastern New Century (FENC), combines innovative textile recycling techniques with materials expertise to transform e-waste into high-quality recycled PET (rPET) for functional fabrics production. This process is not just better waste management but also addresses PET shortages and strengthens the circular economy with a sustainable, high-value solution aligned with Xpore’s commitment to environmentally conscious manufacturing.

e2cycle Transforms E-Waste into High-Value, Sustainable Textiles

Building on the BenQ Group’s background in the electronics industry, Xpore’s initial focus is on advanced mechanical recycling of PET from display devices, which is then processed into waterproof, breathable, and 100% PFC-free mono PET yarn and membranes.

Whether it be polo shirts or waterproof jackets, top sustainable fashion brands gain access to a reliable source of rPET crafted from electronics-derived materials.

Recognition for Innovation

In March 2024, e2cycle won the Performance Days Eco Performance Award for its pioneering work in the circular economy. By converting e-waste into high-quality PET textiles, Xpore is setting a new benchmark for sustainable textile production, proving that environmental stewardship and high performance can coexist.
