Exhibition / 2021.10.08

Taipei Fashion Week SS22 kicked off on October 3 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park as well as Taipei City and will run through until October 17. For the first time, fashion will be presented in a combination of art and technology, much anticipated by the public. It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the fabrics jointly developed by well-known textile brands and designers that are shown each year, the materials science giant BenQ Materials can also be spotted at the Young Talent show held on October 8, unveiling 24 fashionable garments made with Xpore - a sustainable and functional brand under BenQ Materials. Chairman and President of BenQ Materials, Z.C. Chen and Ray Liu, were also amongst the spectators to witness this memorable moment.

Xpore focuses on eco-friendly waterproof and breathable fabrics and was officially introduced in 2020 by BenQ Materials at ISPO, Munich Germany. Thanks to its high functionality and environmental sustainability features, this unique brand has been highly recognized in the industry since its launch and has received a number of awards in Taiwan and overseas. Recently, the waterproof and breathable hooded jacket jointly developed with Metro Oasis won the annual award from the Taiwan Outdoor Group. Highly praised in many sectors, companies including Picture Organic Clothing, Black Crows, Geox, WEAVISM, Danee Silk, China Airlines and Metro Oasis have also chosen Xpore fabrics to be used in their products.

Young Talent this year is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education. Young Talent provides a world-class stage and resources to students majoring in fashion design to demonstrate their creativity. A total of 70 stunning fashionable pieces were created by 7 up-and-coming fashion designers, and among these, 24 pieces were made with Xpore fabrics.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to take part in Taipei Fashion Week and play a part in fostering talent in Taiwan’s fashion industry. Young Talent has provided an excellent stage for 7 amazing emerging designers to showcase their abilities. Through their creativity, we look forward to seeing more eye-catching sustainable fashion styles made with Xpore.” said Z.C. Chen, the Chairman of BenQ Materials.
